AUCTION - Dan Hicks - Psychedelic Benefit - 1969 Concert Poster - California Hall - Good

Here we have a possibly unique poster for a benefit concert for the Switchboard of Marin. Held at the California Hall in San Francisco on December 9th, 1969. A raft of talent is lined up to support the cause. Dan hicks and His Hot Licks, Piewacket, Bronze Hog, and more. Music from 5 PM until 1 AM. Drippingly psychedelic, uncredited artwork. Lots of stuff going on. Symbolism, doodling. Wacky, wild and weird. Done simply in deep red over a muted yellow, the piece really draws you in. All the way into the tiny address for the venue. This poster measures 15” X 22”. The condition is good, with multiple pinholes in all four corners, tape pulls on the front and reverse. Surface scrape in the red ink at the bottom left. Overall, the colors remain strong. Highly presentable. The only one we have ever seen. Super rare California Hall poster.
