AUCTION - AOR 2.341 - The Doors - Nor Cal Folk Rock Festival - 1968 Poster - Near Mint Minus

This original First Printing poster was created for the 1968 Northern California Folk-Rock Festival in Santa Clara, California. The annual event drew some of the biggest acts of the day. This festival featured Jefferson Airplane on Saturday and The Doors on Sunday.
The use of the photogenic Jim Morrison as the central image makes this a very striking and memorable design. The colors and lettering jump right off the paper! A cornerstone of any true 60s vintage poster collection!
The additional festival acts included Big Brother and the Holding Company featuring Janis Joplin, The Youngbloods, The Electric Flag, Kaleidoscope, Taj Mahal, and Ravi Shankar. Although not mentioned in the promotional material, the Grateful Dead also performed.

The poster measures approximately 14″ x 21″ and is in near mint minus condition with edge wear. The original poster was printed on two different white stocks — one thin and one thick. This is the thin stock version.
