Here is another very popular poster created by Gut aka Allen Turk of the Hell’s Angels. Turk was a surprisingly creative artist who produced several very desirable posters in the 1960’s, many of which are featured in the Art of Rock. This one can be found under plate AOR 2.247. This 1966 poster was produced for Big Brother and the Holding Company (without Janis) and Ken Kesey’s Merry Pranksters at Sokol Hall in San Francisco. Only $1.00 per head! This poster has always owed its popularity to the jeans-jacket motif. The poster measures 20” x 14 1/8”. It is in excellent condition with tack holes in the corners, handling bend throughout and lightend colors from being framed. This is another classic that will draw quite a bit of interest judging by past realized prices.
