Fantastic original "Bilbo's Birthday" concert handbill featuring three of the most important bands from the Sixties era of San Francisco. You have the Charlatans, who kind of started it all. Then it’s the Great Society, the band Grace Slick was in before she joined Jefferson Airplane. Finally, it’s Big Brother and the Holding Company that had Janis Joplin as their lead singer. All held at California Hall on July 28th, 1966. It's pictured in The Art of Rock on page 178, plate 2.156. This is still very early on the scene, about the same time as BG 20. This over sized handbill measures 6 5/8” X 14”. In very good condition with handling bends in the top and bottom. It still present well.
