AUCTION - Syndicate of Sound - Golden Star - 1967 Cardboard Poster - Marin County - Very Good

This Golden Star Promotions cardboard poster is for a show they put on at the Fairfax Park Pavilion. Billed as “Marin County’s No. 1 Dance Hall“, Golden Star did a lot of shows at this North Bay venue. They made poster blanks with all the basic info, then added artwork and particulars for each show. Always groovy looking, these posters have really come into their own. Here we have the Syndicate of Sound (“Hey Little Girl”), with Butch Engle and the Styx. The artwork is by the duo Haff Badd, who together did a bunch of these Golden Star posters. This one is number 16. The show date was April 7, 1967. Additionally, because the original fill-in-the-blanks poster had a ticket price of two dollars, the Haff Badd team had to print a new price, with the words “Scribble Scribble“ written over the old price, along with an arrow pointing to the old price with “Disregard This Area“ next to it. Playful, imaginative stuff. The poster measures 14“ x 22 1/8“. This Golden Star Fairfax Park Pavilion poster is in Very Good condition, with nine total tack holes at the top and bottom, tape pulls/residue and a corner bend at the bottom left. Looks very nice.
