AUCTION - Sky River Festival - 1969 - Artist Backstage Button Pass - Excellent

This rather unique and quite cool button is an artist's backstage pass for the second Sky River Festival and Lighter Than Air Fair. The festival was held at the Rainer Hereford, Ranch in Tenino, Washington on Labor Day weekend, 1969. Tons of bands played, including Country Weather, from whom this artist backstage pass originated. The button has the ultra-cool, Smoking Frog logo for the festival prominently featured. The Sky River Festival did the farm-based festival a full year before Woodstock and the second Sky River Festival was held two weeks after Woodstock. The crowd size was much smaller at Sky River. More like 20,000 not several hundred thousand, like at Woodstock. Rightfully a historic festival, all in all. This backstage pass measures 2 1/8" in diameter, approximately. The button is in Excellent condition, with one small scuff after the "K" in  "Rock", some minor wear and it has "1969" written in black on the reverse. A rare piece, indeed. Directly from a Country Weather band member.
