AUCTION - Seattle Helix - Volume 6 Number 2 - 1969 - Underground Newspaper - Near Mint Minus

This is Issue Number Two, Volume Six of the Seattle underground newspaper, the Helix. From the beautiful, multicolored front cover, to the superbly saturated split fountain on the back, we see a strong testament to the countercultural scene in Seattle. Published in January 1969, this issue of the Helix features a cover theme of Utopia, with an accompanying article inside. A heady mix of left-wing political movements, like SDS, the Peace and Freedom Party, and the Black Panther Party, are featured alongside Eastern philosophy, lots of music ads, groovy psychedelic artwork, and the always intriguing "Unclassified" ads.

This splendid newspaper measures 11 1/2" x 15", with 24 pages, covers included. In Near Mint Minus condition, with only a small bend at upper right, which does not persist all the way through the newspaper. Really stunning, very scarce underground newspaper. The only one we have ever seen.
