AUCTION - QuicksIlver Messenger - Mary Kay Brown Signed - 1968 Benefit Poster - San Francisco - Excellent
AUCTION - QuicksIlver Messenger - Mary Kay Brown Signed - 1968 Benefit Poster - San Francisco - Excellent
What a great poster this is! Here is a benefit show put on to help out the Telegraph Hill Neighborhood Cooperative Nursery School. Billed as "Everybody Loves a Chicken" and features none other than Quicksilver Messenger Service and Country Joe and the Fish as star power. Additionally, we are treated to the Committee co-founder, Larry Hankin, as the MC. And we can't leave out the chicken, the freak films, and the light show! Quite a shindig for a nursery school, it has to be said. The magnificent, washed-out design, replete with a splendid chicken, is by Mary Kay Brown, who has hand signed the piece. The poster measures 13 at 7/8" x 19 3/4 inches and is in Near Mint condition, with only a minute brown stain under the "V" in "Service". It is worth mentioning that Serpent Power also played. Vinyl collectors among you will know how rare their album is.
