AUCTION - Punk - Black Flag - Raymond Pettibon - 1982 Flyer - Los Angeles - Excellent

Here we have a fantastic early Punk flyer for Black Flag. They're appearing in Los Angeles with DOA and The Descendents at S.I.R. Studios. The show date was November 27, 1982. Black Flag, of course, was pretty much leading the pack in Los Angeles at this time. Sort of a counterpart to Van Halen, if you will. What knocks this Punk flyer out of the park is the artwork by Raymond Pettibon. Pettibon, out of all the Los Angeles area artists at the time, stood out as a world-class talent. That talent is now hanging in museums and galleries all over the world and his original work commands a tidy sum. Pettibon is a master of what can only be described in a limited way as non-sequiturs, and this one is a doozy. The condition of the piece is Excellent, with horizontal folds and handling, likely from being put in a pocket after being handed out at a show a week earlier and is very common with Punk flyers.
