AUCTION - NYC Anti-War - 1970 Two-Sided Shopping Bag - Excellent

This truly amazing piece up for auction is an early 1970 shopping bag, promoting a rally to "Stop the Government's War on Vietnam and Black America". Heavy stuff to be sure. The rally was held in New York City at Bryant Park on April 15, 1970. The anti-war movement was in full throttle by this time. On the reverse of the bag, we find an equally pointed statement: "Rich Man's War but the People Pay… Time to Stop!" Pretty strong stuff, especially for a shopping bag! Speaking of which, this is the only political one we have ever seen in 30-plus years. Just phenomenally unusual. The shopping bag measures 18" x 16 3/4", approximately, not including the twine handles. Printed in bold black type on a white paper bag, this political carry-all is in Excellent condition, with some light staining and handling throughout. This fifty-plus-year-old paper bag is practically one of a kind and we are excited to feature it here.
