Here is a festival poster from Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1972. Billed as the Ann Arbor Blues and Jazz Festival, the lineup is nothing short of staggering. Heavyweights abound. Miles  Davis, Sun Ra, Charles Mingus, Chicago Art Ensemble, and Archie Shepp, just to start on the jazz side of things. Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Jr. Walker, Bobby "Blue" Bland, Sippie Wallace with Bonnie Raitt on the Blues side is pretty strong, too. The show was produced by counter-cultural revolutionary extraordinaire, John Sinclair. The whole festival took place on Otis Spann Memorial Field, which really rounds out the whole poster. Blues and Jazz giants performing on a municipal field! The artwork is by Gary Grimshaw, a Detroit and really an American treasure. Fantastic collage to grab your attention. This original festival poster measures 17" X 22", approximately. The poster is in Excellent condition, with corner bends, handling, edge wear. Colors are still remarkably strong and bright. Never put up. Great lineup. Great poster.
