AUCTION - LSD '24 - Bicycle Day Poster - Timothy Pittides - Mint
AUCTION - LSD '24 - Bicycle Day Poster - Timothy Pittides - Mint
On April 19th, 1943, Swiss chemist Albert Hofmann discovered LSD at his laboratory in Basel, Switzerland. After consuming 250 micrograms of the mysterious substance, he then rode his bicycle home.... what an interesting trip that must have been. With that, Bicycle Day was born and the rest is a very colorful history. To celebrate the 81st anniversary, artist Timothy Pittides produced this trippy silkscreen simply entitled LSD, dedicated to the first recorded recreational use of the kaleidoscope inducing drug. As an aside, Timothy is known for producing Vice posters including one for cocaine & one for marijuana!
This colorful silkscreen is printed on French chipboard kraft-tone stock. It measures 20” x 16”. Timothy has signed & numbered the poster out of a limited edition of 125 copies. The condition is mint.
