AUCTION - Jabberwock - 1966 Concert Poster - Berkeley - Excellent

Here we have a rare East Bay poster from 1966. There was a venue called the Jabberwock on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley, CA. Known mainly as a Folk Music place, they had Rock shows as well. This one is for Pat Kilroy and the New Age. They did two shows a night from November 18–20, 1966. The Union Bug says it all: Printed by Berkeley Free Press. Lovely offset printing in deep orange and black on beautiful vellum. The uncredited artwork is most likely Tom Weller, who did a lot of Jabberwock posters with a similar aesthetic.

The poster measures 13 7/16" x 22 9/16". In Excellent condition, with a pair of pinholes at the top, a corner bend at the bottom left, some handling bends at the top center, and a surface scratch at the bottom center of the flower (at 6 o'clock). Presents fantastically. One of the scarcer Jabberwock posters, for sure.
