AUCTION - Haight Ashbury Maverick- Volume 1 Number 7 - 1967 - Underground Newspaper - Excellent

Here we have Volume One, Number Seven of the Haight Ashbury Maverick underground newspaper, from March 1967. The Maverick was another one of those amazing but short-lived newspapers from the Haight Ashbury, in San Francisco, CA. These papers typically feature an immense amount of material, densely packed with art and printed word sharing space and truly colorful front and back covers, and a super cool centerfold as well. There's also some very intensely inked split fountain work. The Maverick leaned strongly towards sexual openness and freedom but also mixed in Eastern philosophy, some poetry, and the always wonderful classified ads, which some think are the coolest part of these newspapers!

This issue of the Haight Ashbury Maverick measures 11 1/2" x 15" and is in Excellent condition, with a little bit of edgewear. The newspaper was folded in fourths. Now lays flat. Fantastic color. Super psychedelic and quite rare.
