AUCTION - Grateful Dead - Psychedelic Event - 1969 Two-Sided Invitation - Fillmore West - Excellent

Offered for auction here is an unusual, two-sided invitation to a Grateful Dead show. The show itself took place on February 19, 1969, at the Fillmore West in San Francisco, California. The Frontiers of Science Fellowship issued the invitation to what they called "Celestial Synapse I". This was a psychedelic event that was more low-key than the Acid Tests of previous years. The year was 1969, LSD had been illegal since 1966 and discretion was increasingly the watchword. "Hear Ye, See Ye, Seek Ye Truth, Lead us on Our Way". Cosmic stuff for sure. And a little bit cryptic too. Printed on thick, fine paper (real stationary stock), with one edge, torn, rather than cut, for effect. The invitation is in Excellent condition, with a couple of small stains and handling.
