AUCTION - Grateful Dead Blues Brothers - Randy Tuten Signed - Winterland Closing - New Year's 1978 - Concert Poster - Excellent
This is an original concert poster for the Closing of Winterland the Masquerade Ball, held as the New Year's concert in 1978. The event featured performances by The Grateful Dead, the Blues Brothers, and The New Riders of the Purple Sage. As is customary, there was breakfast at dawn, and the poster includes a personal message along with ticket distribution rules from Bill Graham.
This poster is an alternate version for the event, while the more well-known Art Of Rock (AOR) poster plate 4.38 is the "Blue Rose." The artwork is by Randy Tuten, who signed the poster in silver ink. The dimensions of the poster are 16 3/4" x 20 7/8", and it is in excellent condition for its age, with just a few light moisture spots in the upper right corner; otherwise, it remains very sharp.
