AUCTION - Fillmore East - Community Meeting Poster - Bill Graham Business Card - 1969 Lot (2) - Very Good

This amazing lot, consisting of two pieces of Fillmore East history, includes a poster for a radical group holding a community meeting at the venue, as well as Bill Graham's personal Fillmore East Corporation business card. The wildly anarchic poster (artwork uncredited), was made for a community meeting held at the Fillmore  East on October 30, 1969. The organizers were a group called UAWMF (Up Against the Wall M. F.), who demanded, and got, Bill Graham, to have recurring free music nights at the Fillmore East. Coincidentally, the UAWMF folks were the same people who tore down the fences at Woodstock!  However, these free nights were short-lived due to violence, which led Bill Graham and the city of New York to put a stop to them. The business card, as stated, is for none other than Rock's greatest impresario, Bill Graham. The card features the "Bill Graham's Fillmore East" logo at the left, with the corporate info at the right, with Bill Graham's name at the bottom. Printed in green ink on nice business card stock, the card measures 2" x 3 1/2", while the poster measures 11" x 17". This highly unusual, very scarce UAWMF Fillmore East poster is in Very Good condition, with handling throughout, edge tears and the piece has folds. Bill Graham's personal Fillmore East business card is in Near Mint condition. Super cool, a very unusual lot.
