AUCTION - RARE Cream PAISLEY - 1968 Original Gary Grimshaw Poster - Grande Ballroom - Near Mint
AUCTION - RARE Cream PAISLEY - 1968 Original Gary Grimshaw Poster - Grande Ballroom - Near Mint
We are pleased to offer the figurative Cream of the crop of all Grande Ballroom Cream posters. Cream, rocks first power trio, played the Grande Ballroom 4 times between 1967-1968. Three posters and one postcard were created for the shows. All done by the late and immensely talented Gary Grimshaw. Of the three posters, the Cream Paisley is the most beautifully and skillfully designed with its rococo flourishes and classic photo of the band. This is the original 1st printing, as defined in Eric King’s Guide to Psychedelic Poster Art. The poster measures about 21” x 13”. The poster is in outstanding near mint condition. Perfectly sharp edges and corners; no dings or handling whatsoever! The back is perfectly white. The poster was previously framed and exhibits the slightest of fade. Check out the border and the body. You will be hard pressed to see it. Without the modest fade, we would call the poster mint, that is how clean and sharp it is. Still, very vibrant with well saturated inks. We note for the record that this poster has sold for close to $7000.00 in prior auctions. This is a great opportunity to fill that hole in your Grande Ballroom or Cream poster collection. It is highly coveted, so expect some spirited bidding!
