AUCTION - Bindweed Press - 1966 Stationery Sheet - Near Mint
AUCTION - Bindweed Press - 1966 Stationery Sheet - Near Mint
This unusual item up for auction is a single piece of stationery for the Bindweed Press in San Francisco, CA. The Bindweed Press was a relatively short-lived outfit in the Noe Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. This page of the company stationæry has the Bindweed Press name at the top left, underneath which it has the cool old school prefix phone number UN derhill 3–8861. This method of writing phone numbers went away by 1967, which dates the piece as early 1966, we believe. This was when Bindweed Press began to print all the early Family Dog posters, including the ultra-famous "Skull and Roses". Also at the upper left, we find a delightful assortment of clip art and type styles randomly arranged, to show off what Bindweed press was capable of. The paper is tan/light brown and measures 8 1/2" x 11". This Bindweed Press, stationery with letterhead is in Near Mint condition, with only light handling.
