AUCTION - Big Brother Janis Joplin - 1967 Poster - Napa CA - Excellent

This ultra-scarce poster is for Big Brother and the Holding Company featuring Janis Joplin at the Napa County Fairgrounds in Napa, CA. The Black Cat Bone Band opened up the show, which was put on by After–Thought Productions (great name). The show date was June 30, 1967. This is one of the very earliest appearances of Janis Joplin with Big Brother, as she joined them first on stage on June tenth of that year. Super early in what was to be a meteoric rise for the band! This especially rare poster measures 11 1/2" x 17". The piece is in Excellent condition, with handling throughout the top half, a small edge tear next to the "H" in "Holding" and handling,. Never put up. No pin holes. No tape. Printed on bright yellow stock, the colors are still very strong. This poster is a super rare and obscure piece that has come to the surface. We have seen just two in over 30 years! They just made much smaller print runs back then.
