AUCTION - AOR 4.109 - Grateful Dead - 1982 Poster - UC Davis - Excellent

Offered here is an original college-campus concert poster printed on card stock for the Grateful Dead’s performance at the Recreation Hall at U.C. Davis—located 75 miles northeast of San Francisco—on Sunday evening, March 14, 1982. This event was co-promoted by the university and Bill Graham.

The artwork, designed by Jim Pinkoski, is truly exceptional and stands as one of the finest Grateful Dead posters from this era. It features a sublime use of black and red ink, masterfully depicting the iconic skeletons and roses resting against the actual architecture of the U.C. Davis campus. It's pictured in the Art of Rock, plate 4.109.

 The poster measures 11 1/2" x 17 1/2" and is in excellent condition, showing only a tiny ding on the lower left edge and slight toning along the edges on the verso.
