AUCTION - AOR 2.210 - Charlatans - 1966 Poster - The Firehouse - Good

This original concert poster from 1966 is for a dance concert put on in an old San Francisco firehouse, at 3767 Sacramento Street. The dance took place on March 12th, 1966. The Alligator clips, followed by the Charlatans, Sopwith Camel, Duncans Blue Boy, along with movies. From 9 AM to whenever we are told. All for two dollars. The poster is pretty tongue in cheek, with its' glib band descriptions really taking the cake. This is a super early show. It sits right between BG-1 and BG-2 in the Bill Graham series, and between FD-2 and FD-3 in the Family Dog series. We focus so much on the numbered series posters, it is good to be reminded that there were many very capable independent promoters competitively operating in the San Francisco Bay Area. This original dance concert poster measures 8 1/2" X 14 and is in Good condition, with handling, edge tears, tape, assorted wear with multiple issues. Color is still very bright and the presentability factor is good as well. Featured in the Art of Rock book on page 195, plate 2.210
