AUCTION - Allman Brothers - Bob Masse - 1968 Poster - Cheetah Club LA - Very Good

This intriguing poster by artist Bob Masse is from the famous Venice Beach, CA, night club, the Cheetah. Here we have Electric Flag, Hourglass (featuring Duane and Gregg Allman), and Torch. The bands played on May 10 and 11, 1968. Masse's work here is nothing short of fascinating. The beautiful woman with rainbow hair (magnificent technique) ends up enveloping the work with her washed-out skin tones. All over the backdrop of a night sky and the moon in the middle ground. Bob Massey, known for his Canadian work, really makes an impression with this Los Angeles area piece, which measures 13 3/16" x 20 5/16", approximately. The poster is in Very Good condition, with multiple tack holes in all four corners and both vertical sides, corner bends at the upper left and lower left, an edge tear at upper left, next to the "M" in "May" an edge tear at upper left center, next to the "T" in "Electric", and some staining on the reverse. This poster is quite rare and features very early Allman, Brothers, Gregg, and Duane! This is also the only one we have ever laid eyes upon.
