This handbill was designed for a benefit held at the Fillmore Auditorium. Most commonly known as “Abe Lincoln’s Birthday,” this concert was held to benefit the Council for Civic Unity, one of several Bay Area groups focused on civil rights issues. The Grateful Dead were the headliners, but they were still six months away from releasing their first album.

This original handbill was printed on thin white stock and measures approximately 8″ x 11″. It's in very good condition with multiple bends along the top edge, and staple holes.
