Here we have a quite scarce handbill by the late, legendary Alton Kelley. The event was a screening of the Beatles' movie, Magical Mystery Tour at Beaver Hall in Portland, Oregon. The screening took place on May 22, 1969. Alton Kelley worked his magic here and the design is outstanding. The combination of lettering, symbolism, collage, and color choice all add up to a super cool look and a very very desirable piece, for sure. The handbill measures 7 7/8" x 10 1/2", approximately, and is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 289, plate 3.112. The piece is in excellent condition, with a corner bend at the bottom right, handling at the left center edge, and the top right. Never put up. Colors remain strong and vibrant. Very desirable handbill by one of the all-time greats.
