AUCTION - FDD-18 - The Doors Rick Griffin - 1967 Poster - Family Dog Denver - Near Mint

Offered is the original, first printing of the poster created to promote a series of concerts, including one on New Year's Eve, presented by the Family Dog at their Denver venue, from December 29-31, 1967. These memorable shows featured performances by The Doors, Allmen Joy, and Gingerbread Blu. This whimsical, psychedelic poster, commonly known as Space Man or Pay Attention, was designed by the late Rick Griffin and is designated FD-D18-OP-1. These were the final concerts presented at the "Denver Dog" under the leadership of Chet Helms. The central image depicts a multi-limbed alien exiting the door of a spaceship with one hand extending toward the viewer holding a large white pill, on which is written: "Pay Attention". The offered example measures approx. 12 3/4" x 21 1/2" and is in Near Mint condition.
