Wow! We are thrilled to offer you this incredible example of the Human Be-In poster. Here is an original, first print (Bindweed Press) poster by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley. As a bonus, both Mouse & Kelley have hand-signed this poster is in black ink in the bottom right corner. Please note the size of the signatures, very small. Both of these
artists would later make their signatures larger and larger. This gives you a good indication that they signed this one in the late 60s to early 70s. The line-up is, of course, historic. You have speakers and poets such as Timothy Leary, Allen Ginsberg, Richard Alpert, Michael McClure, and many others. Then, in between the speakers, local bands like the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Big Brother & the Holding Co. with Janis Joplin, and several others. An all-day affair, and all for free in Golden Gate Park on January 14, 1967. The Grateful Dead would headline the Fillmore later that same evening with the Doors opening. This was the event that really triggered the Summer of Love as the word spread across the country of this magical event held for free in San Francisco. This poster is a real piece of history. Measures 14 1/4" X 19 7/8". Condition is Near Mint. A stunning example with only the slightest bit of edgewear
and an upper left corner tip push. Here is a poster that is just waiting to be CGC'ed!
