AUCTION - AOR 2.99 - Big Brother Janis Joplin - 1968 Handbill - Fillmore East Grand Opening - Near Mint Minus

We are really pleased to offer this amazingly rare handbill for Bill Graham’s Grand Opening of his Fillmore East, formally the Village Theatre. The shows took place on March 8, 1968, & would kick off a 3 year plus run for the Fillmore East. Linda Eastman is credited with the photograph of the band. Honestly, we have not had one of these run through our auctions in over quite some time. The handbill measure about 5 3/4” x 4”. It was discovered inside a Fillmore East concert program & is remarkably well preserved. The condition is near mint minus. There are no tears, holes, or tape. There is a touch of softness to the upper right corner tip & some toning on the verso. Overall, a beautiful copy of a very historic piece.
