BG-11 - ORIGINAL POSTER ART - Wes Wilson - 1966 Ink On Poster Board - w/ Artist Notations - Fillmore Auditorium - Excellent

This early and stunning piece of original poster art was hand drawn by one of the great San Francisco poster artists of the 1960s, Wes Wilson. We love this piece as the black and white art really pops as does the flow of the central twisting and rising lettering. In addition to the Op Art or Pop Art reference of the "U" surrounding the lettering, there is a bit of conceptual art here:  "U" will experience "The Wailers, Quicksilver Messenger Service, at the Fillmore Auditorium". Brilliant concept for the poster art, especially just five months into the now legendary run of Bill Graham Presents Dance Concerts at the Fillmore from 1966 through mid-1968.
The poster art measures 14" x 20" and is in excellent condition.

Here is a short movie of the artwork up close.
