AUCTION - Mouse & Kelley - Art in Fashion Show 1966 Handbill - Excellent

This early handbill by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley under the name Mouse Studios is exceptionally rare, interesting, and unusual. This is an early commercial job for the two artists. The client was Helene Harris Presents. She put on a show called "Art In Fashion", featuring clothes from Cathy's. The show took place on October 5th, 1966, at the now-defunct San Francisco National Bar. Very cool Art Nouveau styling in black and white. The woman at the left is particularly intriguing. This early Mouse/Kelley fashion show handbill measures 8 1/2" X 11" and is in Excellent condition, with three horizontal folds and one vertical. Now lays flat. No tears, no tape stains, tack holes, or staples. Some handling. Presents quite well and the high contrast is still strong. Beautiful, unusual, and rare Mouse/Kelley handbill. Featured in both the 1979 edition of Mouse and Kelley book on page 18 and the Stanley Mouse book "Free Hand" from 1993 on page 56.
