AUCTION - Ken Kesey - Ginsberg Burroughs - Poet Laureate Signed - 1976 Poster - Oregon - Excellent

Here's a very rare poster for a rare event held in Eugene, Oregon on June 6, 1976. The venue was the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene. Ken Kesey's Intrepid Trips Society for Aesthetic Revolutionary Training (ITSART) put on this indoor/outdoor event and it was billed as a "Poetic Hoo Haw". The lineup is nothing short of a cross between an Acid Test and a Human Be-In and a Beatnik showdown, with lots of surprises along the way. William Burroughs, Alan Ginsberg, Bob Kaufman, Ken Kesey, Stewart Brand, Charles Lloyd Quartet, El Teatro Campesino, musical saw player Tom Scribner, belly dancers, bagpipes, and more. Starting on the greens outside by day and moving indoors at night, folks really got their $3.75 worth! Trippy, clown in chains artwork is uncredited but was used later in a Fillmore poster. This square poster has also been signed and notated by Portland, Oregon poet laureate, Walt Curtis in pen on the reverse. Measuring 10 9/16" x 10 9/16", approximately,, the piece is in Excellent condition, with toning, a small tear at the lower center right, and light handling. Never put up. A rare find, indeed, and signed by a poet laureate no less.
